Otto Hashmi
Otto Hashmi is an artist, performer, and composer from London, UK. A brilliantly experimental young artist, Otto combines a huge variety of musical influences from his classical training on the recorder and oboe to his interest in hiphop and electronica, to create a sound that is entirely unique to him. He has also worked as MD and session musician for artists such as Suzi Wu, Denzel Himself, Huxlxy, Honess Jones.
Nobuto
Nobuto is a British/Japanese composer and producer from Kent. With a style described as 'utterly contemporary' by Manchester Collective, he draws heavily from his background in contemporary classical music, combining live instrumentation with electronics, jazz and visual media. Not tied to a single aesthetic, his dynamic and playful approach to sound has seen him collaborate with string quartets, rappers, poets, experimental artists and jazz musicians alike. He is currently working towards a debut album with the support of Sound and Music’s ‘New Voices’ scheme, set to release in mid-2023.
For this event, Nobuto will
be performing a selection of tracks off his new album, playing piano alongside an acoustic ensemble with electronics. Expect strange, swirling instrumental textures with glitchy electronics, pockets of calm ambience giving way to jazz improvisation and off-kilter beats.
